My mother-in-law, Jan, was here last weekend; a present from her kids to visit her grandson (oh, and her son & daughter-in-law!). We had a wonderful four days playing games, eating, and socializing.
Gibson and I took Jan to the Oregon Zoo on Friday. We went before it got too hot and were able to see almost everything and leave just as it was getting crowded.
While we were there, Penny the Penguin was adopted into our family. Grandpa Dick gave an assignment to Grandma Jan: she needed to find a penguin friend for Gibson. And so, courtesy of Grandpa Dick, Penny came home with us. Ironically, we missed the penguin exhibit, which is one of Gibson's favorites.
He kisses her . . .
And the ultimate sign of affection . . .
