We had a quiet celebration on the day of Gibson's birthday. It started off with him opening presents from the family. I think the biggest hit was his sword and shield that turns him into a gladiator.
The biggest present was a bike with training wheels. James took him outside to try out his new wheels.
Gibson wasn't too thrilled with the bicycle. Evidently it was wobbly, the wrong color, and didn't have a bell. We think he just needs some practice and then he'll like it.
James baked, carved and decorated Gibson's birthday cake. This is the head of Buddy, a T-Rex from Dinosaur Train.
Gibson was thrilled with his cake! He could hardly wait for his party.
The next day was Gibson's bowling party.
Everyone had so much fun bowling.
Then it was time for pizza.
And then for the cake.
The candle got blown out by Logan first, which is why his mom is holding his arm. James re-lit it and Gibson got his chance to blow out his candle.
And then it was time to open the presents!
Gibson had such a great time celebrating his fifth birthday. Both he and Tabi still talk about the bowling. She's already planning her birthday party.
