Yesterday we had a Christmas adventure. We started off at Sleighbells. I was planning on looking for ornaments while we were there, but it was very crowded, so we stayed long enough to visit Santa, drink some hot chocolate, and have hot dogs for lunch.
Gibson was very excited to talk to Santa.
He wanted to tell Santa about everything in the toy catalog that he wanted.
Tabitha, on the other hand, was just tolerating sitting on Santa's lap.
She started to warm up a little once Santa paid attention to her alone. This morning on the way home from church she told us proudly that she sat on Santa's lap, talked to him and he gave her a candy cane, which she didn't like.
After visiting Santa, we decided to go to Hagg's Tree Farm to find a Christmas tree. We took a tractor-hay ride out to the trees, climbed up the muddy hill and started looking for a tree. Gibson was so excited to find a tree, he took off by himself for a minute or two. Then we heard him calling excitedly, "Dad, Dad!! Come quick! I found the perfect tree!"
It took us a while to find him, but when we did, this is the perfect tree that he had picked out.
He was very proud of his find.
We decided to go with a slightly larger tree. Gibson was so excited to have the tree in our house that he had to eat dinner sitting right next to it. He kept petting the tree and tried hugging it a few times. After the kids went to bed, James and I re-arranged the living room a little and put the lights on the tree. We finished decorating it after church and the kids can't get enough of the tree - it is so hard to keep little hands off of it!

It looks like Tabitha wasn't quite sure about this hairy guy in the red suit.... LOL.... Gibson on the other hand looks like he was telling Santa about all the things he wants for Christmas. Grampa Mike
She didn't like his fake beard, she kept pushing it away like it was something icky.
