Update on Our Move

On the same day that Ezekiel was born, James and I decided that he would accept the job transfer to Riverside, CA.   Since that day, things have been moving quickly.

We are booked to fly in to Orange County on April 15th.  We will have temporary housing in a fully furnished apartment for three weeks.  The apartment is pretty close to James' work, so he will have a short commute.  During that time, we are hoping and praying that our house will sell up here and that we can find the perfect home to rent in Riverside.

Our house in Portland has not been listed yet.  We are still filling out paperwork and waiting for the real estate agent to come look at our house.  We are praying that the house will list for what we owe on it, so we can at least break even.

Since most of our stuff will remain in the house until it sells, we are trying to "set the stage" so to speak so that we can show it.  This involves a lot of hiding and moving of our stuff.  Once the house sells, James will fly back up and oversee as our house is packed up by a moving company.

Next Tuesday and Wednesday we will focus on cleaning all of the things you never think about cleaning unless you are moving.  A few ladies from my church have volunteered to help us out.  (I absolutely love our church!  I will miss our church more than anything else.)

We haven't even started packing, but you know me and my lists - I have plenty of them ready to check off once we start packing.  We are planning on packing as we would for a long vacation.  However we have a lot of baby gear we need to pack up.  If any SoCal friends have a bassinet or a Moses basket or a baby swing we can borrow, we would greatly appreciate it.

So, that's where we are at the moment.  I'm looking forward to seeing all of our family soon, but will greatly miss our friends in Oregon.
