Tabitha's 18 Month Update

The kids had their well-child check ups this last week. Here is how Tabitha is doing:

Height: 33" (81%)
Weight: 20.4 lbs (3%) YEA! We can finally turn her car seat around! The Winn van will be a much happier place.

She is following in her brother's footsteps as to height and weight percentiles.

I asked our doctor about her feet (she stands on the insides of her feet) and physical therapy. He said he is not worried about the way she stands, doesn't need to continue physical therapy, and she probably doesn't need braces. He is pretty sure that when she is walking on her own her feet will flatten out. Tabi is walking a little further every day, so hopefully soon she will be on her own.

Where she lacks in walking, she is making up for in language. Everyone is impressed with how well she speaks. Here is a short list of her words. I know she has many more than this, but I wouldn't want to bore you.

She knows and says the following body parts: eye, mouth, nose, ears, hair, hand, fingers, knee, toes, foot, tummy, and her favorite, Eh-Bow! (elbow)

Bing: blanket
Bay-Bee: Baby
Boo: as in Boo! Scared you, didn't I?
Buh: Button
Cwa-cwa: cracker
Ghee-bee, or Ghee-gee: Gibby
Khee: Kitty
My, mine: pronounced and used correctly
Nah-nah: banana
Nee-noo: Thank you
Pah-ee: pacifier
Pah-pah: pillow
peas: please
Poo: spoon
Poo-poo: exactly as it sounds. Often used in conjunction with No, as when we are checking her diaper and she says, "No poo-poo."
Ss-ss: Sassy
Sseh: Shelf
Waah: Wall
Waa Wah: Word World, a cartoon the kids like to watch
Wuh-wee: Lovey, the rag doll she received in the NICU, and now sleeps with every day.

Sounds:
The cow says Booooooo
The chicken says doo dooo, as in cock-a-doodle-doo
The sheep and goat say BAAAA (yes, this is yelling)
The cat says maoh (like the Chinese dictator)

She has short two- or three-word sentences, usually having to do with food. Her favorite word, by far, is "no". It is really funny to ask her questions just so she will answer no. However, she answers in the affirmative when it is something she wants, as in, "Do you want a cupcake?" Vigorous head nods.

Tabitha's favorite things:
Dancing - she dances to all music
Singing - She sings and does the motions to Itsy Bitsy Spider, Peanut on the Railroad Track, Deep and Wide
Books - she can sit in a chair for at least 10 minutes reading
Word World - as soon as she is brought downstairs from nap, she starts saying Waa Waa and wants to watch Word World
Donuts - as soon as she is sat down at church, she starts saying please verbally and signing, because she wants to go get a donut, which she eats in its entirety.

She learned this little trick this last week, as well. I turned around and there she was, playing inside the drawer.
