Second Christmas

On Christmas morning Tabitha woke up around six; James volunteered to take her downstairs and let Gib and me sleep. Then Christmas Day dawned and Gibson and I joined James and Tabitha downstairs (sunrise was at 7:43 a.m). The tree had presents galore under it!

The kids were very excited, but still had time for a quick photo in front of the tree.
Uncle David made presents for everyone. Gibson got a very cool sign in the shape of a tire, saying Gibson's Garage. The inside wheel spins and makes a whirring noise.

Tabitha got a stool, just like Gibson has. Not pictured are the barbecue and kitchen utensils he made for James and me.

This cute little puppy was in her stocking.

Gibson got this race track, and the lady bug Pillow Pet is Tabi's. He didn't want her playing right there and was trying to get her to leave.

A pile of opened presents, but not half of what was received.

This picture represents of four of my presents: the headband, the set of polka-dot mugs, the Dulce de Leche White Hot Chocolate in the mug, and the camera which took the picture.

It was a quiet day for us (relatively speaking. . .kids are always noisy). The Christmas turkey was still frozen (I cooked it three days later!), and we didn't end up with any guests. We finished up our Advent calendar and the Advent wreath, then watched White Christmas. And while we missed our family, we still had a wonderful day of remembering why Jesus was born.

Here's hoping that we are together next Christmas! That is, if the Lord lingers.
