On Tuesday, August 17th, we went to the beach with our friends, the Quiroz family. Instead of hitting the waves, we went to a quiet harbor. Since the water was calm and shallow, it was also warm. Gibson stepped into the water and said, "I LIKE California water . . . it's warm. Oregon water is cold!"
Tabi wasn't sure she liked the water at first.

But Gibson got right into it with his big truck.

Diana and I enjoyed talking while the kids played. That is her son, Andy, with the truck.

I set Tabi down on the sand out of the water's reach, with just her foot touching the water. She wasn't sure she liked the sand.

Since the tide was coming in, the water creeped up on her and she discovered it wasn't so bad after all.

While Tabi was getting used to the water, Gibson found another little boy who had a kick board they were trying to jump on, like skim boarding. He's almost got it.

He's finally on the board. . .but it's not going anywhere, now!

Meanwhile, back at Tabitha . . .

She discovered that eating sand can actually be good for a body.

And the tide finally surrounded her legs, and she discovered that playing in the water can actually be FUN!
