Can you believe Tabitha is eleven months old? Here is what she is up to now:
Tabi's favorite thing to do is kick. No wonder I felt pummeled while pregnant, the girl searches out things to kick. The item of choice is the fireplace grate. Gibson, also, is a favorite kicking object; he will lay down under her feet so she can kick his head, stomach, legs, back, etc.
As for food, Tabi loves it. Her eyes light up when I pour out little puffs for her to eat. If I give her a bottle in the middle of the day, she will only drink a few ounces and then wants something to chew. That might have something to do with teething.
Speaking of teeth, she has her two bottom teeth and likes to chew, but I don't think she is getting her top teeth in yet. And, bonus, she is NOT a drooler! Gibson would wet through a few bibs a day. The only time Tabi needs a bib is while she is eating.
At her nine month check up, she was just over 15 pounds and 27 inches long. Other than her issues with sitting, the doctor thought she was right where she should be.
She is able to sit on her own for a long time, but not able to get to sitting from laying down. We are working on this with her physical therapist. We go every other week to PT and I am learning how to work with her to get her to sitting up and crawling. Something we learned about preemies: because she was not curled up and pressing against the womb walls in those last weeks, she did not have flexibility and strength in her back. Tabi is very stiff when she sits or when you hold her - she likes to be straight. This is what we are working on to overcome to get her to sitting properly.
She is rolling around to get to where she wants to go. She also spins on her stomach or her back to position herself so she can roll to where she wants. She will roll from one side of the house to the other. She was thrilled with herself when she got into the kitchen and was able to look out the back door - a whole new world for her!
