4 Month Update

Gibson went to see his doctor for his four month old check up on July 2nd. He is doing great! We've decided to wean him off of the Zantac and see how he is doing now. So far, he seems to be fine.

Weight: 13 lbs, 1 oz (10th - 25th percentile)
Height: 24 7/8 inches long (50th percentile)
Head Circumference: 16 5/16 inches (25th percentile)
Basically, that means that he's tall & skinny - just like his parents (were).

He had to have 4 shots this time. When the nurse came in, he was smiling and wiggling around. On the first poke, she had just gotten a laugh out of him and he didn't realize what was happening. On the second poke, he started to look very worried. On the third poke, his bottom lip went out and his eyes welled up with tears. Before the fourth poke, he was screaming - and I don't blame him. Fortunately, he calmed down fairly quickly once he had some cuddles from his mom!

The next day he had a fever of 101.4, which I guess is fairly common after immunizations. I gave him some baby tylenol and held him for most of the day. He also slept a lot, which was to be expected. But the next day he was doing great and was back to his normal self!

On Independence Day night, we put him to bed at his normal time, 8:00, and around 10:00, James & I went out front and set off some fireworks with our neighbors. We had a fan on in Gibson's room for some white noise and he slept through the whole night.
