Our first field trip in Kentucky was to Evan's Orchard. We were going to go apple picking, but as soon as the kids saw the play area, all thoughts of picking apples disappeared from their minds. We stayed for about three hours playing and the kids had a blast.
There were mushrooms growing in all the haystacks. I am fascinated with mushrooms, for some reason.
There was a HUGE fort that the kids were immediately drawn to. My brave boy, Zeke, was excited to go down this three-story slide, albeit on his tummy.
Gibson had fun in the hamster wheels. The other two tried, but it was too hard for them.
He actually wanted his picture taken, but wouldn't open his eyes. The tractor tires were fun to climb over and through.
Zeke figured out how to make the swing go on his own.
They had a huge "sand" box filled with corn. Gibson just wanted to lay down in it.
Tabi learned how to play a favorite game of locals called Corn Hole.
Anything involving water is a hit.
He climbed to the top by himself using the ropes.
There was a petting zoo of sorts - you weren't supposed to actually pet the animals, though. This little bunny is so tiny, but it was much braver than all of the bigger babies; it came right up to the fence to sniff Gibson's finger.
Grandma Jan had introduced the kids to sour grass. They found a patch near the barn.
