Gibson's Sixth Birthday

Gibson has been planning his Angry Bird Star Wars party for months.  I took about a month to prepare for it.  Even though half of his guests couldn't attend for various reasons, he still had a blast and loved the games, the cake, and the decorations.

This is a C-3PO bird that I made out of a giant Easter egg.  I hid it and whoever found it got a prize.

An x-wing and a TIE fighter flying around the Death Star.

These favors went home with the kids.  There are coconut jelly beans for the eggs, and a package of Angry Birds graham crackers.

I made light sabors out of pool noodles.  The kids got to take one of these home too.

Princess Leia hair headbands.  Tabi wore hers for days before the party.

James baked and decorated the cake, Han Solo Angry Bird.  Gibson was thrilled!

The Jedi Juice (lemonade) was dispensed by R2-D2.  We also had Tatooine Tea.

For food, we had Pig Empire Eats (carrots), Trajectory Triangles (chips) with Red Skywalker Salsa, Light Sabors on a Stick and Han Burgers.

As soon as the kids saw the light sabors, a war was on.

Then we went into the backyard for a game.  The kids threw the Luke Skywalker bird at the structures and killed the Galactic Pigs made out of balloons.

Instead of throwing, Amelia chose to walk Luke Skywalker Bird into the boxes.

Mason took it one step further and starting from the far corner of the yard, "flew" the bird into the structure, Angry Bird noises and all.

Time to blow out the candles.  Gibson wasn't happy about us singing to him.

Andrew took all the pieces and set them up on a small table in the shade and then brought Gibson over so he could knock them over again.

The aftermath of opening the presents.  A lot of Star Wars and Angry Bird gifts.

Gibson decided that it was his best birthday ever.  After all the guests left, the kids crashed and went to bed really early.  You know the party is a success when you are exhausted afterwards!
